i'm confused. there nozzle on the intake right before the throttle body. then there is a vacuum line that goes from that to the valve cover. i think there is also a vacuum line that goes to the stock air box, but i just plugged it with a small screw.

Well that tube just hooks up to the valve cover, and they should've gave you a little nipple to put over the and i think is the fast idle valve. If you do put it, the car will rev whenever it wants to.

thanks for the replys, i know the tube that hooks up to the valve cover. what im curuius about is that my sister's intake has two tiny tube the bigger one is for the valve cover and the other one is for the vacume line, i think. its the one that connects to a small round metal dont know what its called. its about the same size as a bottle cap and say "up" on top. on my stock intake its connected to the plastic pipe, but on the aem theres only one tube. and that for the valve cover.

...wha? Anyway, you can just disconnect the hose from the tiny line and let it breathe into the open. Won't hurt anything. Wouldn't suggest plugging it with a screw though. It's there for a reason

Well, for one, it's a very tiny hole. You can't get much dust through there. Also, air really isn't that dirty (in most places in the world. If you've got lots of sand or heavy pollution, get a filter). And I'm not real sure if that thing breathes in or pushes out air

i plugged mine but I got a wierd idle when my AC was on so I removed the plug and left it open air. No problems since. I believe its the line for the fast idle valve.

Well i think the hose going to the valve cover is so oil could go into the intake, so that if dirt does get into there the oil will trap it.

Well they should've gave you two options one to put that sponge on the iac valve, the one that the original intake went to. And it should've gave you a nipple incase you didn't want to put the little sponge in.
