Default Insurance Question

I am a 16 yr old male with good grades and everything. i paid $3600 a year for insurance with my 97 honda prelude. that seems extremely high to me. i sold that car and i am gonna get a (96-99)trans am but the insurance company said that would be $600 more expensive. is this a normal price or should i change companies and if so to which ones? what r some things i can do to decrease that cost? thanks for the replies

Yes that is a high rate. I pay about $750 every six months for a 98 base lude. My Insurance co. is AAA.

alot has to do with your age too. I know my car just fell off the high theft list which is good. I still have tons of tickets though.

It also come down to is it your car in your name or did your dad or someone pay for it. If it's truely your car, and only your name is on the car, and it's your insurance and your not under your dads insuracne then yes it will be very very high. To them you are a 16 year old with no real job with a fast car, your a bigger risk to them losing mony over than most.
