i have a 97' base 5 speed ,curently in the process of trying to sale the car. i want to make sure all the bugs are out before i sale (if its nothing to serious). well i had alot of work done to it at 90k. all seals, belts, timing tensionor, water pump ect...

anyway let me get to the point..the car runs good, it idels very clean. just when you rev the car over 1k and up you feel a very mild vibration.(kinda like if you get in a vibrating chair and have the setting on low..is the best way to discribe it) you can really only feel it when you are sitting at idel and you rev.

Im thinking it has to be a ignition problem sence the car still runs smooth and idels clean (i also do not have any book smarts about honda engines). so if anybody know whats going on here please help. i need to fix this before i sale. thanks.


BTW: 94,xxx miles, lightly moded,oil change mabey a week and a half ago. also no CEL.

bump^ for new info. vtec is horrable..cuting in and out..high rpm i dont hit vtec much because of the police in my city along with there carmeras that clock u...so i took it to the country to see if the vibration are in higher rpms. I hit vtec (heard it engage and felt the begining pull) then it went to hell..cuting in and out(mostly out), at about 6.5k was when i let off. The drive back home was fine i did not take it more than 4.0 k. Still idels smooth at 8k-9k. very weird huh? i had a 98 ek that did once and it was a rod. It did not idel smoothly, cut off when i stoped and did not crank.

anybody know whats up..i really dont want to take it to honda they replace parts that are unnessery to replace and never fix your problem. well atleast not mine.

Jeeze, just sounds like the normal Honda-high-milage-shimmy to me. I've never had a Honda with that kind of milage that didn't vibrate a little. ****, I got in a brand new Accord at a dealership the other day, and it had a slight vibration too!

Of course, mine vibrates like an SOB because I have engine mount inserts, on a 183,000 mile car!

 

well high milage shimmy dose not happen in one day...at least i dont think. It only has 94k on it. but hey you might be right..any body else have any other ideas?

bump for more new info ,Took car to honda , they cleaned the AICV and chaged my plugs and wires. they told me that the vibration is gone. well its not..i just have all my power back. anybody know whats going on, this is weird..thanks in advance.

 

problem solved, FICV ...cleaned it and now car runs fine..thanks 4 the help....
