Idle Problems
I got a 95 Prelude SRV I been having idle problems for a while now and I cant figure it out and I need help or I will burn it...(kidding)
First when I notticed my rpm jump from 1000 - 1500 , up and down.... I searched and a lot of people talked about closing the thermal valve on the fast idle controller, I did that no luck. Next i made a custom plate inplace of that valve becasue Its usless to me. Still no luck. Than I came accross an article on 92lude.com about testing the fast idle controller and the iavc valve by covering the holes in the throttle body, did that and found if i plug the top hole it would go back to normal....low rpm but no more rev up and down. So since the top hole is for the Iavc valve I took it off. People say that they had luck by cleaning the metal mesh on the valve...well did that no luck(also tested the valve and it does open and close with voltage applied) Anyways I go and get a second one...put it in and still no luck. So the next thing i decided to see if ecu recorded some codes... I use the service plug(brown & blue) an jump it but for some reason the engine light is not blinking but my SRS light is and is giving some huge codes which do not exist (71 is what i get). I dont think its normal because everywere i read is that the check engine light sould be blinking...... I have no more clue....all I can think that is left is the ECU.. Any idaes guys and ideas will be great and sorry for the long read....
