how much will pullies affect stereo
its not like i have the biggest stereo in the world or even competition style. but i do have a nice system with 2 amps running all of my speakers. what i am wondering is how much will pullies affect them if at all. i would say that i am running around 545-600 watts. will the system pull too much and not allow the battery to take a charge or should i just not worry about that. i am getting them reguardless but would like a forewarning of what to expect.
Thanks
Thanks
Put the pullies on everything but the alternator.
If you have to have them on EVERYTHING then try installing a capacitor so as to not overload your electrical system when its drawing peak power. Best bet would be to install a deep cycle battery with a charge controller that powers your system. But thats kinda pricey. Try the audio forum, the guys there might be able to better help you.

It should be fine. Although your lights might dimmer when the bass hits...but you can throw in a 1 farad capacitor and it'll take care of that.
hey i have a 5 farad capacitor...do you think if i installed some pullies even on my alternator i would have problems???? im really thinking of getting pullies but i dont want to have problems. Ive searched on this topic before and some people say they do have problems and others dont. I dunno what to do!!!!
If you're worried about your system, then just install the PS pulley. It's not like the ALT pulley is going to give you 15+hp anyways.

NO, I do have a 5 farad cap. i have a full rockford fosgate system but a different cap. trust me when i tell you its a 5 farad. my installer showed it to me its actually as big as a 1 farad if not smaller...its mounted in the trunk, under and in between where the rear speakers are located.

I'm pretty sure you have a 0.5 farad capacitor, since you mentioned it was SMALLER than a regular 1 farad cap.
There are actually a few companys that make 5 farad caps. Alumapro, Phoenix Gold, even Audiobahn. Alumapro actually makes a 15 Farad and a 50 Farad cap. The 5 Farad version is actually about the size if not smaller than a regulal 1 Farad cap. They are made out of Carbon Alloy, thats how they get so small.
YO
When i put pullies on my car the lights were dimmer and i was worried about putting in my system.
But with 400 watts to two subs its fine.

i think i have the alumapro..not sure but when i get home i will check for y'all. finally someone who knows what im talkin about. it only cost me $525 because i know the guy. im still undecided whether i want to get the pullies cuz i have 2 amps that draw about 1200 wats....so still deciding on that.
Whenever I had pullies, my system was never affected, and the lights never dimmed whenever it hit. Just buy a CAP to hook up to your system, and it will be fine. They take less power off your battery, and keeps your system bumping.
Farad caps are absolutly useless. Better of getting a 2nd Optima yellow top battery and a battery isolator. Its not only better for your wallet. Its better for you amplifiers too as batteries have super low ESR's. Farad caps do nothing but add resistance. Just go to carsound and ask sound guru Richard Clark or David Navone.
