How do I install a trunk spring?
Installed a spoiler today and it came with a trunk spring, so I tried to install that as well to hold up the extra weight added from the spoiler. Had trouble taking it out (had stronger cousins do it) and they did it with a great deal of work, but can't put it back on. Does anyone know how to put the trunk spring back on without the use of the special tool? This is for a 2000 prelude and the OEM spoiler newly installed.

theres a tool that your local Honda dealer sells that makes it a whole hell of a lot easier.

heres what the tool looks like... if you have anything that resembles this then you might be able to do it.
you just push forward and down on the tool to release the spring (carefully, its under stress lol) and do that backwards to put the new ones on.
good luck mang

yeah i know hwo the tool looks, was gonna order one off of handaacessories just to fix it but no need now. My dad figured it out on how to fix it. Thanks for the help guys. The vice grips woulda been a good idea huh, stupid me. That **** is crazy strong man. Almost shot me during removal and I know it would've hurt. Got all cut up doing it too man.
