Default HID Problem. Please help.

Hi. I just installed new HID kit on my 5th gen prelude but the light shines really upward and blinds the hell out of people in front of me. They get so pissed off. Also people across me waiting for signals high beam me and flick me off. Does anyone know how to fix that problem?

There are a couple screws behind the headlight that you have to turn to aim the headlight.

You also have to be on a flat surface and 15-20 ft away from a wall.

What kind of kit did you buy? I have mine and they arent that bad to the point where I blind everybody and get the finger.

Good luck

adjust the level of the beam downward...there should be a bolt behind the headlight somewhere i think to level it down u tyrn it clockwise or counterclock wise

Hahaha ...... the side effect of a Plug-And-Play Hid Kit. Too much glare, everywhere. I bet you can't see **** on the road either, right ? ... I knew about this, read up on it, and seen the symptoms personally and so I went with a Retrofit instead of a PnP kit. The only cure for your disease is to take that PnP kit out and go back to OEM or do a Retrofit.

That is the best solution, but not everybody can afford to do a $7-800 retrofit. So, the second best option are the PnP's. You just have to aim them a bit lower and you'll be fine. Ive had mine for over 3 yrs and have no issues. And I see everything on the road 10X better than stock. Just aim them correctly

That's the best and only solution to fixing the problem. Even when you point them way down, that kills the light going outward where you want it to be instead of 5ft. in front of you. With a retrofit, you'll beable to see like 20yds in front and side of you. It's up to you. PnP kit to see 5 yds or a Retrofit to see 20+yds. Not all retrofits cost $7-$800. It all depends on what type of setup you're wanting which will determine the price of your retrofit

110% wrong
i sell PnP kits for a living. its all about the headlight, and all stock non-projector headlights can be properly aimed with HIDs.
the reason your lights are so misaimed is because since the plug and play no longer uses the white base that plugs into the base of your halogen, the bulb is not seated correctly and is aiming to high. a quick and actually perfect solution is to cut the top of an aluminum can off so you have the side of the can as a flat sheet of aluminum. cut a u shape out that slips over the base of the bulb so that the aluminum gets caught by the bracket on the back of the headlight that locks the bulb in, this way the bulb is seated and doesnt shine to high. PM me for more details. it sounds ghetto but if you want to be 'pro' then buy a sheet of aluminum from a store, but its still the same thing

you're 115% wrong, cause not all stock non-projector housings can handle cheap PnP kits simply cause of all the glare they cause. About the only way of not blinding people on the street is to get 8000k and up plus aim them down all the way, but when you do that, you loose lighting onto the street. I'd much rather run 4300k bulbs through some projectors so that I can get the full affect that everyone wants when having HIDs on their car. If you put 4300k bulbs in a Prelude headlight without projectors, you'll be blinding people all the time even with your lights aimed down all the way. I know this because I once had HIDs without projectors, but this was about 4 years ago before I started doing retrofits.
