Ok, so today I went to Honda and picked up my new VSS and cleaned my IAC, PCV and EGR valves. I just got done and my Speedo still doesn't work and all of a sudden my car idles like a V8? What can be wrong?

 

sounds like the MAP sensor is disconnected or something. Check the CEL.

Make sure the plug is in well, if it is, then you need to make sure the wire has continuity all the way to the ecu.

 

Ok, The Cels before I bought the new VSS was, Cylinder 2 misfire and Speed Sensor A malfunction. It seems as cleaning my IAC, PCV AND EGR got rid of my misfires because it longer bumbles between 2500 RPM and 3000. Now it just revs up and down between 1000 and 1500 RPM's, that could be because I cleaned the valves out real good. Still don't now why my speedo still don't work? Could it be a bad Tranny because this would be the 3rd VSS i've put in this tranny.

 

there is another part to the speedometer behind the cluster that could be bad. you have a vacuum leak somewhere cuasing the idol to go up and down

 

I had the same problem with my prelude idle jumping up and down.. When i took it to the shop he couldnt figure out what was wrong with it and was going to have to order a new one, but then took apart the one in my car and found it was a bad O-ring, it couldnt seal off properly causing the wierd idle. maybe something along the lines of your problem too?

 

Everytime I clean my Throttle body out my Idle jumps like it is now then stops after a day or 2. I'm more worried about my speedo working then the idle.

Did you try disconnecting the battery for five minutes to reset the ECU?

 

Yes, I've also reset the code and the speedo still would'nt work. I'm looking for a new Tranny as we speak so if anybody has 1 for sale let me know.

when my dizzy was giving symptoms like that, it was going out. Check ur Dizzy

 

I no longer have the misfire, the speedo still don't work. Also idle is fixed.

 

What did you do to fix your idle ?

Nothing, usally when I cleaned my Throttle Body with some carb cleaner my idle would bounce up and down for a couple days then stop.
