Default help no vtec!!!!!!

i have a 97 prelude and i just turboed it and its running good but i vtec does not kick in at 5 like it is supposed to i do not know why i have the cold engine rpm rev limit of 6500 about , it was working perfectly fine before that and i dont know why it is not now, i have good oil pressure and i need help soon!!!! i did disconnect one of the pressure sending units on the back of the block for my pressure guage and oil feed line, i am going to plug it back in tomorrow , but people are telling me that it is not the problem, my dummy light is not on so i do not think that it is the dummy light sending unit. help

your car is in limp mode, thus the 6500rpm redline

I once experienced the same problem and my filters in the vtec solenoid valve housing was blocked with gunk. Just take it off and give it a good cleaning and it'll work just fine. There are two filters - one between the head and solenoid valve housing and the other between the solenoid valve and housing. Easy fix. This sludge will block oil pressure to the solenoid switch.

this is wierd as hell, my vtec kicked in tonight twice , but no more than that, i think it might have to be the filters on the side of the motor, how hard is it to clean/remove these 4 cleaning? , oh and also i really dispise my tranny if anyone has stuff for a 5spd conversion let me know i have to get back to the way things should be , to hell with tiptronic
any help greatly appreciated
