Help! Idle Problems!
I'v swaped out the cheap h23 for a improved h22 but im still runnin into probs... 1st, I have an idle problem that will not go away. We adjusted the TPS sensor ( since it was off the H23a block) and it seemd to clear up for awhile, but then it goes back to fluctuating back n forth from about 1 - 1 1/2. This problem is very annoying to me and I cant seem to get it gone for good, also it seems to 'bog' for a second when you gun it, then it catches itself and speeds up. 2nd problem is I'v done a lot of research on this motor and the reldline is suppose to be around 7200 for a stock JDM H22a, however my motor has some sort of a limiter around 6800. It will Not go past 6800, it just bounces. It also has a govener at about 120mph and will not let me go past this speed. I dont know if the problem with my idiling is serious enough to make these changes. We'v done everything we can think of to make this problem go away and I still feel like im losing power and not running the true power of this motor, i'v felt the power in other stock jdm h22's.. and not as strong. PLEASE HELP! Thanks
For the idling problem :
clean out your throttle body, check for vacuum leaks, and check for a loose idle screw.
As far as the limiter at 6800, maybe your car is in limp mode?

Check your fuel filter. Common thing that's overlooked.

yup.
it doesnt seem like anyone ever figures out what the bouncing idle is. on my old h23 motor it used to do that. a little at first from 1k -1.5k, and then it would get worse and go up to 3k. never figured it out though. used to **** me off...
things that i were told to do is:
try a different ecu
check every vaccuum line for holes
make sure there's no air bubbles in the antifreeze (start the car with the cap off)
none of those worked in my case, but they may in yours.
good luck

I'm usin the ecu that came w/ the motor, There are no vacum lines that have bubles, so not sure why its doing this. IS there a way to check if it is in "Limp Mode" because ive heard other people say the same thing, not sure why or how to fix this problem thou... definitly a pain in my a$$

It is your warm up regulator. If you have checked all the obvious possible sources ( vacuum leaks, etc.) it is the warm up regulator. same thing happened to me. Got a new warm up regulator and never happened again. That was two years ago.
