Default Help with an engine swap--- PLEASE HELP---

Here's the dilemma-

I got an AWESOME car for an AWESOME price- with the #4 cyl BLOWN BADLY! I have an SH and now I have a Base engine I picked up used and running. I want to dump the ATTS and it will not mount up anyways.

What do I need to finish the swap? I have the intermediate shaft on its way, new. and I am going from a sh engine block to a base engineblock, all of the stuff I have seen is for tranny swaps or adapter plates. Is that even necessary for swapping to the base engine? Will the trans. require anything additional or will it just bolt up with the intermediate shaft? Will this lock up the wheels like a spool? I am not sure but the ATTS was the differential, and if it is gone, there is not a diff in there is there? is it streetable if this is the case?

The engine and trans bolted up and I replaced the clutch while I had it on the floor.
Anyone who reads this post, please feel free to post links for the needed parts to finish this swap. Thanks!!

Specs: 97 SH with a Base H22A4
need to bypass the ATTS
New intermediate shaft

well, you need a base tranny as well, then your intermediatte shaft will bolt up right and axles will pop right on, that is all.

I - uh kinda figured it would bolt right in with a base tranny, but i don't happen to have one of them lying around here, and besides, the SH tranny works fine.....can it not be done?

If you can eliminate the ATTS can't you work around a base engine?

I have seen this one already - but the original question remains.... can I still use an SH tranny with a Base engine (without the ATTS) I don't want the ATTS on there, the new engine is in place already, the only thing that remains is that big gap between the steering knuckle on the left side and the tranny. I ordered a new Intermediate shaft for the base model, and I "hope" that it is all I need.

The intermediate shaft will not mate up with the SH tranny, you have to use a base model tranny, end of story. The only way to use the SH tranny is to also use ATTS, and then you would have to have some kind of adapter made to mount the ATTS on the base block.
