Hello, everyone... I own a 99 honda prelude SH. i just got the car like a week ago. When i bought it, the car ran smooth. now i was driving today taking a corner around 55-60 (ment to be done at safe speed at 45) and all of a sudden my Check Engine/ ATTS light came on. 1 Does anyone know what i have done to cause this. 2 and is it possible that i can fix this myself, instead of taking it in to an auto repair shop and getting screwd over?
Pull the DTC code and get back to us. You can reset the ECU in the meantime and it might go away for good. Many SH owners(including myself) have had to replace the ATTS ECM once; this may be your case also.

Alright thanks for the tips guys... i'll try them and get back to you. and btw 99_sh was it expensive to replace the ATTS ECM?
its probably not bad, just reset it, my 99sh has thrown a ATTS light on a few instances of hard cornering. Just a random error but is fixed when I turn the car off/on.
Im sure you are just throwing a CEL for something simple and due to the fact that the ECU cannot communicate with the ATTS computer while the CEL is on, it throws the ATTS light on as well.
Pull the code or reset the system.

alright i have solved that problem, now the problem is... when i am driving and for ex: when i come out of a corner and step into it.. just shy of 6500 rpm it seems like my car will cut out for a second and rev and then catch and take off.. and it all started when the ATTS came on. will it ever be the same as before now that i have reset it or is that just a whole different problem in general

2x
preludes guzzle oil like it's nothing.
the ludes <3 their oil..
i was catching vtec higher than usual a month ago.
turns out my engine oil levels were getting too low.
vtec needs a specific oil pressure to operate.
the engine will give you more problems if you don't give it enough oil.
got a flush and oil change.
problem solved.
this issue sounds similar to how my car was acting up.
hope this helps.
have you got the dtc yet?
that would help a lot.
