help! car has overheating problems!
ok, so I have a H23 prelude that seems to have problems over heating, I just got the car less than a month ago. Car overheats when i got it and so i changed the thermostat and car was fine again. No overheating for like a good week. One day I got into my car after being at the gym and drove it back home. I notice that the car was overheating to the point where is was red.
What can cause a car from not overheating to overheating agian in a week?
-Previous owner said the waterpump and timing belt was changed about 25000 miles ago by a local shop.
-any answer would help

i see that you are from wisconsin and overheating in the middle of the winter is some serious issue lol, but i would try bleeding the coolant, making sure there is no air in there, checking the coolant making sure to add more coolant than water, check your radiator fans, hoses. have you noticed any leaks?
LOL! yeah really true
1. how do u check for air bubbles?
2. car also overheats when traveling 50 mph
3. No leaks
4. im thinking it could be a faulty thermostat bc hose that goes into the thermostat housing is cold

plus i also have another problem, my car idle hunts. idk if its the IACV or the spacer? i was thinking it was the IACV, BC even if with the spacer on, the IACV should have adjusted the idle according the amount of air in the intake manifold. But then agian IDK? so anything will help. thanks
OK thanks for ur help. I drove the car for a good hour today and it just stopped over heating. wierd? but im thinking that the thermostat was probably stuck when i was driving it the other day.
