Help cannot shift
I just got done racing, but I missed third gear. When I pulled over to park and left it for about two hours, when I got back my shift **** was freezed. I could not shift it left to right for nuetral or up and down to get into gear. I believe I had last left it in reverse. I freaked out, then I started the car and played with the shifter it still would not move. Five minutes later the shifter got released and I was able to shift like normal, I panic but I thought everything was ok, but then it got stuck in reverse again. So whats the freakin problem?
Hey man, do you have a 4th Gen Lude??
I have the SAME PROBLEM with mine if it is a 4th Gen Lude.
Is you clutch pedal really stiff?? When you start you car when the shifter is stuck in gear...with the clutch pushed ALL THE WAY in does the car act like an automatic. By this...I mean that the car will move forward a little even though the clutch is all the way in??? And while this is happening....if you step on the brake......the car will not stall out...but if you release the brake again..the car will start to roll forward again??
If this is your issue, I already tried changing the clutch master and slave cylinders, flushing the fluid, and topping off the clutch fluid.
The only thing I can think of is it is either a clutch problem...I think the throwout bearing....or a tranny problem.
My car has been sitting for 8 months because of this and I just decided to get an H22 swap. This BETTER fix the problem. LOL
But PLEASE....let me know if you find out what is wrong with the car!!!!
Oh, and the only way I could get the car out of gear was to turn off the car.....pull back and forth on the lever for like 15 seconds and eventually it freed itself.
It sometimes even locks me out of even putting the car in gear. I am stumped.
