HELP: Came out to car this morning, clutch floppy, won't engage, completely out of fluid, filled sti
Help me please. I have a 97 prelude base 5 speed. The clutch is in great shape, i am positive. So i came out to my car this morning, to go to work, and i turned on the car, and that went great, but my clutch pedal was completely floppy, and i could not put the car into any gear. I checked the master cylinder fluid, and it was empty, so i filled it up, but still the clutch is not working, it feels like the spring mechanism, or hydraulic mechanism just doesn't work anymore. Do you have to bleed the clutch fluid? someone help me please.

You need to bleed the system as you would your brakes.
The bleed nipple can be found attached to the clutch slave cylinder on the bell housing.
Keep a close eye on the fluid level as you bleed the system, the reservoir capacity is so damn small.
My prelude suffered from the same problem, especially on cold days. It turned out to be a leaky slave cylinder.
Hope this helps

So do you think that my clutch isn't blown? I filled up the empty fluid container, but none would suck into the hoses. Where is the nipple on the clutch slave cylinder on the bell housing? Thanks for any info.

Re: (Kristo92)
you most likely have a leaking master cylinder or slave cylinder.
carry a bottle of dot3 brake fluid in your car just in case. and when you're at stoplights you gotta keep pumping the clutch lol. i had to drive to work like that once... it sucked but i had to get there somehow

Sounds like you are leaking out all your fluid.
Find the leak, then bleed out the system just like you would do your brakes. Get a little bleeder bottle and a 8mm open-end wrench.

Re: (LudeyKrus)
had this same problem in my integra...look up under your dash..you most likely see some fluid leaking under there if you do then its your clutch master cylinder..you can bleed it to get it running long enough to get it replaced..search the forums on how to bleed the clutch master cylinder then go to honda buy a new one about 140-150 give or take and get that **** fixed yo =P

Your clutch master cylinder is probly worn out and leaking. Check under your clutch pedal for a leak. If so replace it and bleed the whole system.
