Help bad compression numbers
hey i got compression numbers 180-190 across the board and my cars feels slow its a jdm h22. Ive searched and seen people getting mid 200's for their compression numbers ..... now the question waht do i do??? I want to build the engine for turbo eventually so if that helps....??
you can pull the spark plugs and squirt a few drops of oil into each cylinder and recheck the compression. If the numbers are significantly different, they its likely that bad rings are causing low compression numbers.
Check your timing, if your timing is off it might throw off your #s. The main thing that is good is that all the numbers are within 15psi or so, i think they say if its between 30psi max then you are ok.

ignition timing has no effect on compression #'s, unless ur talking about camshaft timing/overlap.
