Help Alternator Problem
ok i have an jdm h22a in my eg hatch every time i get a different new battery all the power from the battery drains within a day ,i have changed my alternator about 3 times already but they were all used alternators ,would anyone know what the problem would be , would it be that i should get a brand new alternator or what? thanks
There might be a drain somewhere in the electrical system. Connect a volt meter to the battery terminal and monitor the voltage readings when the engine is idling, around 3000 rpm and engine off. The voltage should be between 12.5 to 14.5 when the engine is running. Turn the engine off and monitor the voltage drop. If the voltage continues to go below the normal battery voltage (~12vdc), then you have a drain. Start with any add-on connections or accessories by disconnect them one at a time until the voltage drop stops. If no problem found there, then move on to the fuse box to track down which circuit is causing the problem. Pay attention if you have tapped into any fuse proctected circuits.
