Headers on a 4th generation?
if you want to make awesome power buy one of the big boys....if not save your money and just buy a megan....add a 2.5in collector and for under 250 dollars you have a pretty decent header.

You could always check out Private Label Mfg., subliminal is their sponsor here and they have some great headers at unbeatable prices.
true and if the guy only wants a little added power then there is nothing wrong with a greddy or megan. both believe it or not are of pretty good quality. they are mass produced and are nothing special but some people dont see the need for an 1100 dollar header. nitrous is a much better option if you want to spend that kind of money...imo
Everything on "the list" is good, at least in the sense that thought and logic went into the design. I've seen headers so bad they actually *lower* HP numbers.
Really, it comes down to a decision - do you actually want more power, or are you trying to shove something shiny in your engine bay? If you actually want a bigger hump in power, you're going to part with some money. You could always get something used - good headers don't really "wear out". They either work or they are broke.
The Greddy headers list for $480 so you can probably pick one up for $400 or so. From my experience, Greddy actually makes high-quality (if somewhat generic) parts. Can't beat price-to-performance ratio.
If you have money to burn, there's always better. Google up those unbiased results!
Question: Are you going to replace the exhaust?

So I liked Greddy's price and their reputation for quality perfomance parts. And Megan's price was excellent but their quality? And on an H22A1?
Korman: I agree, used headers are an option but I think I will spend the $400-480 on a new set. And concerning my exhaust-I am replacing it most likely. I have an ebay test pipe that has a spoon sports stamp on it that came with my headers (yes I was going the cheap route this summer) and a 2.5" catback exhaust system that has an oval OBX/Forza tuning muffler (replaced eBay N1 canister style)
Kronn: thanks for the info. bro.

I love them, I haven't had the car tuned yet, waiting to do the IM and TB first but tuning brings out the full potential of the header, it's the Tri-y one but they also make a 4-1. There is a thread somewhere about the headers with dyno charts both in this section and also in the marketplace in their sale thread.
Hytech, RMF, SMSP, ESP, Mugen, RS-R, Vibrant
From my experience with headers, you should fork out the money the first time, instead of buying cheap. I bought a ceramic OBX, back when I was young and dumb, and the fitment was HORRIBLE, it sounded like ***, had a mystery exhaust leak and everypipe was OEM size; 2" collector WTF.
I have an RS-R right now and the primaries are noticably bigger, the down pipes are 2" and the collector is 60mm. Not to mention, the quality is night and day better than the OBX. Although, I'm thinking about getting an AUTHENTIC Hytech in the future, none of the replica BS.
