You'll always gain running open header. Dropping the exhaust alone will save you a decent amount of weight.

You can do what I do and just run off the resonator after the cat and remove the piping and muffler from there back I've noticed very noticeable gains and I lost about 20-25lbs with it. I've even considered a high-flow cat even after that much removed...but I don't want it sounding really shitty. I've actually gotten complements on the setup I have now, though it's not a *tuned* $600 exhaust

No it isn't fast enough yet. md23vtec called me a nitrous rookie and challenged me to a race. I accepted and said I'd run him if I ever made it over to the area, which seems probably right now. However, he hasn't replied since then so I quoted him in my sig so that I don't forget our little deal.
I have nitrous, stock block, the basic bolt ons, and I am getting tuned this spring. It won't be much to brag about until I pick up a second motor and build it up. Luckily that's next on the list of things to do.

Yes it will. Do you plan on only doing this at the track or have you found a way to keep it quiet enough for the streets.

It's amazing what you can do with some race gas and an MSD dig6.
