H23a1 Turbo?
Im wondering if anyone who has a boosted h23 can tell me what it takes to accomplish such a thing...as far is internal mods. Do you need to upgrade pistons or anything? What would happen if i just bolted on a turbo kit?

do a compression/leakdown test to make sure you are starting with a good motor. If your just slapped a turbo on that, prob no more than 9 psi without throwing parts all over the place. Also, searchhhhh. im positive there are TONS of threads about turbo, and what type of block modification is needed.

do a search on the offical prelude turbo thread........ you don't need to relocate your battery.... my advice would be do your research.... by the sound of things you have A LOT to learn, otherwise you'll blow all that money and have nothing to show for it, because your car will be blown up

Re: H23a1 Turbo? (92prelude)
Yea, it will be a long ways out til i have enough money for the kit, install, and other stuff i need....so ill have plenty of time to become an expert on the subject by learning from you guys . Does the average intercooler fit behind the stock bumper cover? Also, i want to have a lot of boost....so what all would i need to do to my engine so i can have more than 8 psi. I know ill need high compression pistons and pulleys to start...where can i get them?

I recommend only running 8psi on a stock block if this is your daily driver. Do not plan a rebuild unless you have about $4000-5000 saved up. I actually just finished up a 90% custom H23a turbo kit last week, at about 6-7psi on the afc hack the car is putting out around 230-240whp I believe. It pulls.
I will soon be releasing my own line of turbo kits for the H series motors. There will be a log manifold option if you are tight on money or you can run the equal length tubular ones. Every kit will be made to bolt directly on with minor fabrication to allow the IC piping to fit as well as the downpipe depending on which manifold you run.
If anyone is interested you can contact me at turbopreludesi@aol.com

Yea, low compression...thats what i ment. Theres a turbonetics t3/104 kit ive been looking at...it does 8psi and says 50-70% power increase. It says its safe on a completely stock motor...is this true?

How much do you plan on selling your kit for and what does it include?
