h23a1 tranny on a h22a engine
will the tranny from the 1995 prelude h23a1 fit the JDM H22a engine? Reason is my tranny just broke and they only want $166.00 for it. its a 5 speed tranny. i really need to know this asap.I found it at the junk yard and I hid it in the trunk of another car lol.

yes it bolts right up,but the top end is a little bit longer.....better gas milage, but longer gears, and you really have to get on it to keep it in vtec between shifts.

You will have no problems, especially reving to 8k+ before shifts.....I have a jdm h22a w a m2s4 tranny and as long as I shift at 7k or above it will stay in vtec.

Re: h23a1 tranny on a h22a engine
I know this is an old post, just curious though on people's thoughts on whats the best rpm to engage vtec on this tranny (h23a1 tranny, m2s4). I have it set at 4200 as per the map from PGMFI (jdm h22a Final Bin). I will seek a dyno tune in the spring as the car is now in storage being my swap is complete but as I said, I'm just curious.
