Re: H23a Bluetop
depends what transmission you have
H22 92-96 oil pan dont have attachment point to newer transmissions so they dont click together that good
pick up could be wise to match the oilpan also

F23A Oil Pan and Pickup and H23V BT same part #s
H22 pan will not work on it unless swap oil pickup for H22... have to have matching pickup and pan

Re: H23a Bluetop
I used the H22A4 pan on mine when I swapped it from the Accord to the Prelude. I'm pretty sure mine were identical. Its possible that I didn't have the stock pan/pickup on my engine so that could be it as well.

Re: H23a Bluetop
I would definitely defer back to ESP but for mine the pickups were identical between the h23AV and H22A4. Both had steel pans. I used the A4 gasket oil pan gasket as well.
I assume as long as the pickup matches the pan you should "should" be ok.

H23V Blue Top Motor:
H23V Oil Pan and Pickup = F23A part #
- Pickup is taller
H23V Oil Pan and H22 Pickup= Pickup may be too high may not have issue, May have oil pressure issue, vtec not work... maybe not
H22 Oil Pan and H23V Pickup= 1/4" gap all around wont bolt up unless force and bend pickup when tightening. DO NOT DO... Pickup will be on bottom of Pan starving for oil, No Oil Pressure, Or Lack of Oil Pressure and NO VTEC.
H22 Oil Pan and H22 Pickup= Works
Simply Match Pickup to Pan you are using whether H22 or H23V/F23A

Re: H23a Bluetop
I don't know what's recommended as far as Gasket. I know some pans have the little nubs that keep the gasket somewhat in position and keep you from completely crushing the gasket. In this case it took a little time to slowly make sure every bolt lined up with the holes but it worked just fine and I have no leaks.
