h22a4 in ek..cel code 8. help
I HAVE AN H22 IN MY EK ...is has the check engine light on code 8..= top dead center sensor...I was told that sensor is in the dizzy, I have an obd1 dizzy.. so I swaped it with a working dizzy out of my boys running h22ek and the code is still on...and it still starts up the same.( a few cranks b4 turns over)......what can it be?? If the motor is off timing from the timing belt, would it cause the sensor on dizzy to misread???
P.s....I had my head removed after cause very loud rockn/knocking noise from head and machine shop said all 8 exhaust valves were bent and 1 valve guide was broken...can it be that it jumped timing some how even tho the timimng mark on the cams were dead even? And that's wat caused the code? Cause the car was fine till 1 day out of the blue after I installed the p28 back in and started it....(I take it off every night). THANKS FOR UR HELP...
