h22a swap help.. Do jdm ecus check for vtec pressure switch ?
I did a swap and the only thing holding me back is vtec pressure switch code 22 so I bought a jdm ecu to throw in under the assumption that it won't throw the code since I thought it didn't check for the vtec pressure switch but strangely it's still throwing the code and I'm still in limp mode. My original accord ecu works fine with no codes and the car runs fine but the thing runs in limp mode with my L11 and now my jdm N01 ecu.
Now I'm thinking the 37820-p13-N00 does not check for it but the 37820-p13-N01, which is the updated version, does check for it ?
Can someone confirm ?
For the record my jdm engine actually came with a pressure switch on it but I can't seem to get the pin to get on the ecu so I'm putting that off til I can pay someone to do it. The other 3 wires I seem to have ran correctly.

I am new the swap myself but I have been reading up on issues people have been having, and on preludeonline someone was talking about the same issue and I think you are correct, the p13 n00 does not check for it. Hope that helps some. Good luck bud

Most jdm ecu's don't check VTP and most JDM engines don't have the sensor. If you are getting a code for it then I guess you need it. It shouldn't put you in limp mode though, so there may be more going on.
"Most" isn't a valid explanation. I'ma try to get my hands on an N00 and I will find out if I'm right.

I would suggest using a P28/P30/P72 etc. instead of a P13, and tune it. Also, as I mentioned VTP should not put you in limp, so there is probably more going on.

Ok, so I threw in an N00 and its still throwing the code 22. lol
I don't really understand. How do jdm h22s run without the vtec pressure switch if all of their ecus throw a check engine code and run the car in limp mode without it there?
I'm going to take my car down to a performance place called n1 concepts and see if I can get them to just fix the vtec pressure switch circuit by running the wire or seeing if it is a pressure problem.
The only other thing I can think of is that I'm reading the code wrong but with my accord ecu there are no codes so it has to be one of the four wires I had to run in(3 not including the pressure switch pin which I can't seem to get right).
I have used an N01, N00, A11, and L11 and all are throwing the same code so it can't be the ecu.
Go to radio shack, they'll have some ecu pin looking bits and just run the wire. No reason to have someone else do it, its really simple.
Why would there be a pressure switch for the vtec on the motor if the ecu doesnt detect it? Only way i know of to eliminate the pressure switch is with chipped ecus that have it disabled and vtec controllers so unless you got one of those then u need to run it
every jdm h22 i have owned had a vtp switch on it and it needed to be hooked up to work with the jdm p13 that came with the swap. in a pinch you can just stuff the wire into the pinout on the ecu and tape it in place, its not permanent but its good enough to test.
Yay, I went down to n1 concepts and the dude managed to get the pin on and now the code is gone and the thing pulls like an sob.

I paid him 60 bucks for it.
