H22A. Problem with overheating.
I have a 93 Honda Prelude with an h22 JDM motor.
Problem: Often over heats just idling. Going down the road its fine.
when sitting and idling for a period of time it starts to overheat, but then drive it and the temp goes down.
hmmm...? any suggestions?
Thanx,
Jared

If it is overheating at idle, I would guess there is air in the cooling system, the thermostat isn't opening all the way, or the coolant level is low. Those are the basics.

never? the fan kicks on once and a while.. whenever your coolant temp reaches a preset level, than the fan kicks on to draw air into the grills of rad to cool fluid.

i hope ur not serious....
trackin ur car has nothing to do with it. since your moving fast, the air thru the radiator is goin way faster than any fan could pull, so it would indeed be pointless to have the fan running while tracking.
the fan is designed to pull air when the car is not moving (ie not pushing air thru the rad itself). sure the coolant could be low, and thats why i said that in my first post, but dont try and say the fan has nothing to do with it when thats the sole purpose of the fan. "TO KEEP THE ENGINE COOL WHEN THE CAR ISNT MOVING"
