so i found a 97 prelude with no motor but it comes with a h22a jdm motor would it have a problem passing emissions?

 

Well if you're in Cali then yes, JDM engine swaps are illigal in that backwards state. Anywhere else, as long as it's an OBD2 H22a then you'll pass.

 

Do you have a Check Engine light on?
In Illinois thats a NONO.....
Also, you're screwed in California.

Thats the only thing I hate about Cali. Other than that, its f*ckin awesome over there.

just becuase its jdm doesnt mean you cannot pass. you would have to convert the emissions equipment, distributor, and ECU to OBD2 for the visual. it also has to pass the actual sniffer test. there are people here in CA who have Jdm motors in their cars they just have to go through the trouble of using the original equipment used on that engine or the U.S based model. last but not least most people already know this but you HAVE TO HAVE AN ENGINE THE SAME YEAR AS THE CAR OR NEWER.
