h22 type s cams or skunk2 tuner 1 cams
I have a h22a swapped eg hatch with a dh racing 1 layer head gasket (11.1:1) with some other bolt ons that made 210whp/144wtrq a few months ago using blox b cams. The car always seemed to lack midrange power and trq and would only manage a 14.0 @ 100mph at NED.
For this upcoming season I'm planning on doing a 4.64 fd and a 70-80 dry shot but want to replace my cams to get back that midrange power. I could always just throw back in the stock h22a cams but I can get type s cams for $150 or skunk2 tuner 1s for $200. Which one is really the better cam? Which one has the better lift and duration and does make more usable hp across the board? Thanks guys

Well here are the specs for the Skunk2 pro stage 1 cams
Exhaust Duration/Lift
264* / 11.9
Intake Duration/Lift
264* / 12.6
As for the type-s cams here is the exact specs of them compared to Brian Crower cams on their website. Enjoy: http://briancrower.com/makes/honda/h22h22a.shtml

I'm using supertech springs and oem retainers. I know pro 1s are the best bang for the buck but I was only going for the tuners or the type s cans because I was getting them for so cheap. Prob just put back in the h22a oem cams and hit it with the 80 shot

From what I have seen, H22A to type-S isn't going to be worthwhile for you. The swap to Pro1 maybe yes, and with a GOOD TUNE and good shot, alot of fun maybe. If you can't get it tuned right, leave it alone with the JDM cams!
Just an FYI though, Pro1 cams take alot more tuning, and are not a super daily cam, even with more compression and a larger displacement engine. As I am there now, and know exactly how it works lol.

Answer is none is worth the investment of time and money to put into your engine for the gains. Pro 1 and valve springs/retainers is your best choice...
I have done few H23V Blue Top builds cookie cutter builds and swapped Type S/Euro R cams and valve springs and retainers, there were no significant gains... however turbo is a different game which I think there is....
Euro R/Type S cams also need matching valve springs/retainers, stock valve springs/reatiners aren't recommended.

Well, I have always heard the euro r manifold is an excellent midrange power adder. How did you manage to only run a 14.0 in a hatch though? Ive run that in a 4th gen with stock jdm h22a.

this post is more about cams than it is about manifolds but the suck as times reflect the use of the blox b cams with just 11.1:1 compression. the car would have def went mid 13 with the setup tho. check out my youtube page 'allmtrz6' and let me know about that 14.0 pass lolol

I can read bro. But the reason I mentioned the euro r was because it is well known to have a great midrange power curve. Maybe you should seek out a good tuner instead of running your ******* mouth. Again, either your driving sux , or your car is just poorly put together cause Ive run 14s with a stock H22 in a 2800lb Prelude.not like thats something to brag about though.

hey, your highway video is really dope bro. I loved how you bounced the car off the rev limiter on almost every shift but my favorite part was when the guy in the big truck pulling the trailer almost ran into you. your 14.00 pass was pretty funny to watch as well. i wont comment any on it though.

1. Work on his shifting
2. Get an alignment and fix the steering wheel
And those two alone should pull half a second off his time
If you car is not tracking correctly in a straight line
It will effect your ET.
