Default h22 type s question

hey guys i did a search about the type s and didnt find what exactly i was lookin for.

i have a 92 lude and lookin to do a swap soon and have my eyes set on the type s motor.

my questions are.
1. is this swap more difficult to do since its the type s
2. since its coming from the 5th gens, will the harnsses match up
3. odbII - odbI harness is needed

i have done some research but i only found limited info.

and if there is anything u guys would like to add or comment go ahead.
thanks

type s is probably only difficult because its ODB2 and your cars ODB1 (im assuming). it also has ATTS and no lsd (unless its the SiR s-spec). if it were me, i would go with the jdm h22, since it comes with lsd and only has 15 or 20 less horses. its also much cheaper and easier to find. Whichever you choose...good luck with the swap

you'd be waayyyyy better off doing type-s cams in a 92-96 H22A, they are stronger engines (bottom end) and with the type-s cams you get back most of the power difference, swap in type-s pistons and you're pretty much there, for about 2500-3000 less.

oh really....whats so strong about the older block??

the 98+ block is the one to with, because:
1)open deck = cooling +, and sleeving ease
2)55mm mains = stronger

to the poster: if you had searched, or used the link in the RULES on how to search effictively, you would have found out (1) the type s is atts (2) you will need to use your stock h23 or f22 engine wiring harness (3) you will NOT need an obd2>1 adapter (4) you will have to wire up some sensors

use the search button...
