Default h22 tranny problems.....grinding in every gear

Just put in a jdm h22 tranny in my h23 hatch, kept the same slave cylinder and cables from the h23 tranny, after i put in the transmission it shifted and went thru the gears fine except 3rd mostly and 4th kinda, what it was doing was after I let off the gas in 3rd it would spit it out of gear, what fourth was doing was was engaging weird, i would shift into 4th and let the clutch out then the shifter would move alot but wouldnt spit it out of gear, so I drove it from the shop to my house about 35 miles, being easy on 3rd n 4th, went fine till I was about 5 mile from home and it started to grind while it was in gear, then it started to grind in every gear I was in all the time, so I made it home finally by coasting most of the way,
checked the clutch fluid and it was fine, thinkink hopefully it is the slave cylinder?

Please if any of you guys know what this is let me know any help will really be appreciated. Thanks Kent

you might not be pressing the cluch all the way in to engage the gear. this is just a guess

Make sure the cables are secure to the rear crossmember and on the metal bracket right before they reach the tranny under the thermostat.

if it' every gear I'd say it's a clutch problem

Clutch was brand new and it isnt as much grinding when putting in gear it is making a all the time grind noise while it is in gear and while i am driving

oh...then I would say its more related tot he differential/final drive

does it make the noise in neutral?

check your shift linkages and make sure nothing is rubbing
this could cause it to slip out of gear

no noise in neutral just while in gear itself, the thing that most makes me think it its the slave/clutch master cylinders is that it started doing it after the car warmed up, about 25 miles or so and the pedal feels supers spongey yet the clutch is brand new, Dont really no though.

could be that someone forgot to bleed the clutch lines...

who put in the clutch? if you, did you torque the pressure plate bolts? i can't remember fully, but they're 16-24lbs i believe?? VERY easy to overtorque and could possibly lead to your type of problem. i'd think clutch as well but since its new...this is my idea. overtorque=clutch could possibly be slightly engaged all the time, even when pedal is depressed. good luck

jeez, i gotta read the full post before i post. i thought i was reading your post wrong. its grinding while driving in gear? but still driving? or it grinds when you go to put it in? and when its in, it spits it out?

if the latter, check your shift linkage. make sure its not kinked. make sure the shift cables are pushing the gear box into every gear all the way. have someone shift while you look at the tranny. there are lock out rings on the syncros that hold the gear in place. these could be going.

my tranny does the EXACT same thing.. when I let the revs drop I can shift.. however above 2500rpm I grind on 1st and 2nd. I switched to GM synchromesh and it seemed to help quite a bit.. but I stored my car 500km after.
