Default h22 and h23 syncros

I have an H22A tranny that the reverse has gone out in it and I think its the syncros. If they were bad would that cause my reverse to not work? All the other gears work fine! So I was wondering if I could take my syncros out of my H23A1 tranny and use them for the H22A tranny. I know that most of the parts are interchangable but I wasnt for sure about these parts. I doubt its a very good idea to do, but I really dont have the money for the new parts. Any ideas on what else might have made reverse go out? I have been searching but I really only find where people are saying how to "TRY" to get the gear into reverse. My car is a 93Si with a 94 JDM H22A swap. m2b4 tranny I believe.
