Default Which H22?

I have a friend who is trying to get a '94 Prelude but he wants to get the jdm H22 and "drop" it in. He keeps asking me what he should do as far as getting a jdm motor or just keeping what he has and just build on it. Personally I told him to just build on it but he just insists on getting a jdm motor. He says he reads about a lot of people who use the jdm h22 and wants to know why. So if someone knows please tell me why is this the case?

Yea, I know and he knows about wikipedia. This is how this whole thing even got started. But he just wants to know why he reads about people using the jdm h22 versus the US h22.

the JDM has more compression. Depending on availability many people find it easier to get the JDM from an importer than finding a USDM locally.

Ok, that's all I needed to know. Now I can go tell him this info. Thanks.

Some of the larger JDM engine importers can get you the optional LSD transmission for a few hundred extra. Might be worth the money if your friend plans to do any racing.

I don't think my friend knows what he wants to do. He just keeps bouncing around about what car he wants and what motor he wants.

JDM h22a obd1 wires up best in the car and gives you the option of boost since it has a closed deck.

x2 on the jdm motor unless he wants to install a block guard to keep the cylinders in place at high rpms.I would suggest the jdm h22along with the m2a4 trans.

Wait I got a quick question.
Is a 93-95 h22a1 closed deck (obd1)
and 96 h22a1 is open deck (obd2)
??
I mean since they are both h22a1, do they have the same block?
or does it change since one is obd1 and the other obd2?
