Ground wire problem??
We just bought my 1992 Prelude Sunday and are already having some *hopefully* minor problems with it. My boyfriend drove it to work today on got to the stoplight and it cut off. When he started it backup it kinda sputtered and choked but kept going. He popped the hood and messed with the distributor and moved a wire and it cut off. Has anyone had this problem or know where the ground wire is to check it? Any help would be much appreciated
how many miles are on the car? and what motor/model prelude do you have (H23 or H22, Si, VTEC, or SE)? there are a number of things that it could be, like clogged EGR ports, vacuum leak somewhere, fouled fuel injectors, messed up distributor, wires, or spark plugs. and although i have never had problems with the IACV, others claim it can cause problems with hesitation. try looking around on this post:

it has some good info on there. also, people on here are pretty **** about searching before you post FYI. but i'll be nice this time.

Thanks for the advice. It turned out it was the ground wire. The guy we bought it from had just put in a new thermostat and tightened one ear to tight and broke it so I guess he was scared to tighted the other tight and left it too loose which made the ground start slipping.
BTW. its a 1992 Si with 163000+ miles on it. And I did do a search and didn't come up with anything to helpful and with "symptoms" we were experiencing. Thanks for the help!
