Advice: spend the JDM money on rebuilding your motor, don't waste it on buying a block you already have.

If you want to build, buy an H23 block at your local salvage yard and put your H22 head on it. That way you'll have a low budget block for building.

I just saved you $2000, wanna share?? J/K

My problem is there is not a prelude in a junkyard for over 250 miles. I found a good deal on a jdm motor and trany only $1700 with only 20-40k miles then like 200 for shipping.I can get it slaped in for free from a friend. Only reason I thought to get a new block is low miles.here are a phew questions I have after being what was said. What are the pros and cons of a jdm engine. Will a jdm trany bolt up with my usdm h22.and last what is a good start for my build operating with around $1000 being I still need a new trany because of a grinding 1st and reverse gears and will want a turbo in the future and need a more powerful trany to handle it. So on short after the trany would have a grand and my motor is stock.

If your going boost, why not just sleeve the block you have and build it? If your gonna build the H22a for boost you'll have to sleeve it too. All the difference would be is the stamp on the block. But the option is yours. After all the problems with my H-series tranny I'd go H2B....
