Clears your cat?

You should be able to make the replica work on your factory cat. It will bottleneck the system a bit if that's what you're referring to?

2.5' ? are you sure you don't mean 2.5 inches? typically the 2.5" is the inlet/outlet size. I've never heard of a resonator being 2+ feet long. Average is 12-18"

I would get the longest one. The shorter the louder.

You can also get a round magnaflow muffler that will take place of a glass back and not kill flow .. basicly you will be running 2 mufflers

You may need to notch the crossmember and add an extension BETWEEN the collector and the catalytic converter - which would be why you need to go to a muffler shop... although I may be mistaken.

i'm still not following what you mean by "clearing the catalyst converter"

I'm rather interested since i've never heard about this issue. Any links on this?

I have a 3 foot glass pack under my Volkswagen, but Im still using the giant factory cat. They come in all shapes and sizes. Mine was huge and cheap. About $35 shipped from jeggs or summit, if you decide to go this route stainless may be a better option, my first(cheap) one had a small rust hole after about 18 months.

I wasnt looking for performance on that car as much as annoying the neighbors. It deepens the sound but doesnt do much to quiet it down. For my prelude I bought a stainless 24" resonator from vibrant, and it will be coupled to a HF cat and twin tip muffler all 3". Hoping its fairly quiet and non farty, but it was susposed to be done a month ago untill other issues popped up.

I was unaware Vibrant made anything longer than 18" - any links to the 24"? I've been looking for a longer one.

Sorry for going a little OT.

Mabey it was 18" resonator, its at my shop and I bought it months ago but it looked bigger. I bought it through Rosko racing with my EuroR mani, but his new site isnt finished so it would be best to email him. Roskoracing.com should bring up his old site with contact info.

You can google hytech replica header install - and you'll see different photos of people notching their header on misc forums.

Otherwise, I'm not sure if anyone has ever done a writeup or not.

it's pretty much a notch a little - test fit - notch a little - test fit kinda deal
