Gas and Temp Gauge Light Problem, help.
Recently due to no obvious reason my gas/temp lights in the dash of my 92 SI have gotten so dim I can hardly see them. They periodically would come back on at full brightness but now they just stay dim, I've searched but most of what i found had to do with the speedo/tach, my speedo and tach are working correctly i have tryed rolling the dimmer switch and i've checked all the fuses quickly but not to thoroughly. If anyone has any idea about what this is, any help would be much appreciated, also it's not as if the light is completely burnt out because i can make out what the gauges read just barely around the edges if it is dark outside. Thanks again.
I also have the same problem right now. Haven't found the solution to the problem, but I have a feeling it has something to do with a grounding issue or weak battery.
If anyone has any input, that would be greatly appreciated.

I notice mine do the same, usually when its a cold start... or when it sits around for a while... I left my car to get painted and by the time I got it back which was a weak later of just sitting around the lights wouldn't even come on and i was about to get pissed but after the car warmed up 20mins later it started to show up. I can't figure out what it is either... im guessing a weak ground or battery as well.

That's the exact problem I have. I also noticed that if I drive my car often, it doesn't happen. It's only when I let it sit for awhile that it'll do that, maybe a week or a few days. I really think it has something to do with the battery.

yeah it recently started doing this, i dont drive my car that much now that i'm back at school so after it sits for a few days the lights stopped working but like you said i did drive it for about 30 minutes one night across town and the lights suddenly started flashing on and off and eventually stayed on, just to go back off the next day. i guess it could just be a bad ground somewhere.
haha fellas calm down it isnt a big problem... just get a junkyard to find one for u and replace it! i had the same problem but mine totally went out! i went to the Junkyard and they ordered one from another junkyard it only costed like 80 or 90 bucks

that is definetly the solution this all happened like 2 weeks after i got my car and it just started flashing on and off and would stay on until i cut off the car and then it would go out.... get a new one it takes about 30-45 minutes to change them out and it is so sweet at night when it works
I'm getting this problem too. What if the junkyard doesn't have any? My point is: what is the actual electronic component that fails. Maybe it's a simple capacitor that is failing. I don't want to put in a new odometer and have twice the miles I currently have.
