Fool the SRS?
I have searched all over to try to find the answer to this. Has anyone installed an aftermarket steering hub kit for a new steering wheel, and got the resistor with it to fool the airbag control circuit? Can anyone please put a ohmmeter on it and tell me what the resistance is? I didn't get the right kit from my friend, it has nothing to do with the airbag. I think its somewhere around 2 or 2.2, but it would be great if someone knew for sure. I'm tired of looking at the SRS light.
Its a 2 ohm 1/4 watt resistor. A 3 ohm should work as well.
The SRS light might come on even after the install, because the computer might dectect that the airbag was unplugged. You will need to reset the SRS unit, by following the instructions in the helms.

as long as you DO NOT turn the ignition on with the airbag unplugged, the unit will never detect that it was unplugged. If you forget, and turn the ignition on with the SRS plug unhooked, then yes, the light will trip and will not go out until you do the reset.
