Shouldnt the foglights be able to turn on with just hitting the switch?

Mine only turn on when the switch is on and the headlights are turned on. They dont turn when the citylights are on or when they are not on at all.

 

Not stock from the factory they don't, do a search, someone has made a wiring change to allow you to be able to. The info is out there.

 

I searched and found alot of info about foglights etc but nothing about making them work with the parking lights.

I have a 5th gen with USDM foglights. Not JDM. I have a JDM switch harness here and noticed there are 2 1 pin connectors, one that goes into the number 5 and 2 in the fuse box. There is only 1 1pin connector on the USDM switch harness that plugs into the 5. Im sure this is the problem but there has to be a way to make this work.

I can't tell you how to make it work, but I will let you know that in a lot of states, VA included it is illegal to have your fogs turn on without the headlights on. I just cut mine on, covered the switch and told them I added daytime running lights. But anyways, check and make sure you will pass inspection with that setup before you go and do it.

Well, I got the JDM Switch and Switch Hanress to work with the USDM Fog Lights. So now they work in all modes... just got finished with it.

So, the JDM Switch and Switch Harness do work with the USDM Foglights.
