Fav. plug wires?
JG LUDER;
I honestly tell you that I have ACCEL on my ride, but I'd rather keep NGK unless you have any forced induction that leads in to buying aftermarket ignition system. But to this day Hondas ignition system is the best that I've seen in my mechanic years.
Keep it real

I've had a pair of ngk's rip on me at the boot, this was at the worst possible time too. Since then i've used MSD's with no problems. Cutting and crimping the coil wire can suck but nowI have it down to a 10sec science.
Well, I ordered a set of 10mm Magnecores last week, they should be here tomorrow... I'll let you know what I think. Waste of money, or worth the time it took for them to get them in! hahahaha
VeeTec: I lost to a Cobra last night... barely, but I lost.
guess I shouldn't have responded to his revs knowing my car was wounded huh?

Look at it this way, if you lost, whoa...that car was FAST!
Not to mention your car isn't at full tilt right now...no biggy.
My car is running better than it ever has right now....wish I had a strip close by.
Think its the nice cold air and a plug change I made.
I also changed fuel and noticed an improvement.

I'm running straight race fuel right now.... I LOVE that smell.
Hey, did you see on HP.com that this friday is import shootout at steele? We're dragging the 8psi blown GSR w/ the JDM type R front end out there. I don't know if you're working or not, but if you arent, I might have my car running some exhibition runs hahaha
Starting in second gear I guess? But I will be there barring some unforseen women issues...
Yeah, that Cobra was kinda quick, it was late, and there was no one around to see it thank goodness. I could tell I would've had him if my car had been right, but all the what-if's in the world won't change the past....
Oh well, next time.

I have read that upgraded ignition wires (ie Nology) are myth products. Meaning, you don't get any power from them. There is an extensive article somewhere on dsm.org if anyone is interested in it. I would have to aggree with them. Personally I run Nologies. I bought them long before I knew better. Now everyone I know runs Magnecore.
I like the NGK's. I order them through NOPI.. reason being is that they fit unlike my friends nology wires and I feel the manufacturer wouldnt use them unless they felt like they worked...
Mark.. when your cars performance starts sucking, checking the resistance on the plug wires is one of the first places to start. Also, if its corroded of cut, or has burn marks, or is damaged in any way... replace them.

I have dyno tested almost all of those wires back to back to back, for a 10 hour period one day.
THe results were stunning. Stunning.
the winner of the test was:
Stock wires.
#2 so close hard to call...Magnecore...
and NGK seemed almost like stock, just colored.
The ViTek wires actually were the worst, and they lost almost 2 HP, consistently. Same with Nology.
We use stock wires on all our motors. And never had any problems. Occasionally, I will throw another set of wires on to test VS stock. And I have never seen anything make more HP. Magnecore is almost identicle though....so if you replace your wires get the Magnecore or the NGK.
This is from some good testing I have done. And are my findings only. These findings should not be taken as fact. But merely the results of some testing by me and a few other guys on the dyno over a period of time..
Thanks..
Jeff

Someone went digging through the archives... this is old stuff...
Let me be the first to say: Stock wires will NOT handle what I though at them. I've proven that.

I did not mean 'perform'd extremely well' as in they gave me a ton of power. I meant it as in they are still working fine for me, and I have a set of msd in a box somewhere cause they did not work very well.
Obviously alot of you all hate nology wires. They have work'd ok for me though, and they fit well and look'd nice with the stainless ground's. Just curious how it is determined they are so terrible?

Ever since CHRIS RADO'S 9 second Integra was runnning on factory wires, I'm sticking with NGK.........Plug wires comes very useful for NOS, Turbo and Supercharger to deliever more spark..but until then, for all motor purposes NGK can have my $45 bucks
