Um, not true the JDM ones are limited to 120 mph (200kph), I should know, ive got two.

One is derestricted using an Apexi RSM

 

i'm surprised nobody mentioned gearing? (which limits topspeed)

 

I hit 135 with two other people in the car and a bunch of camping stuff. I bet I could hit about 140-145.

 

I quit trying after 148mph, I still had almost a 1000 RPMs left to drive on. I was racing a Z28; lucky for me he couldn't drive it worth a damn, and I won Oh that was when I first purchased the car stock, to see it's limits.

 

150 fast as a muthafucka.
I did getto drive a NASCAR tho and go 180, that was tight.

 

this is in an h22a accord. using a p13 usdm ecu and 95 h22a1 tranny (top end tad shorter then the 97-up).

on the stock tach hit about 140-142mph in 5th gear bouncing off the rev-limiter.

that's right, bouncing off 8000rpm and the car was still pulling like a train. only mods were cai, apexi ws, clutch masters 3, clutch masters flywheel.

i was following a contour svt which was walking me top end.

but i don't believe the gearing in an h22a1 tranny will let you go much over 140mph.

 

I got my 94 vtec up to 140 with a ton of **** in it, and i have never tired going that fast again. My friend and I got my 93 S up to 135 going down a hill with the car just crammed full with crap.

 

okay so just because i'm new here, and i have this need to express my stupidity. i did 150~ in my 5th gen '01 sh on 580 for roughly 20mi's... damn that trans am is all i have to say. damn him to hell.

 

heh.. i've done 110-120 for ~200 miles. didn't see a cop until l exited off the interstate. whew!

 

I've hit the rev limiter in 5th gear in my 93 vtec lude, and have i/h/e, I calculated my tire height online - http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html - then used that to figure out exact speed w/ final drive and 5th gear ratio's at - http://www.quiknet.com/~ke6vut/rpmcalc.html - these are the easiest to use, so my exact speed at the 8000 rpm limiter is 150mph. For you JDM ecu guys, your speed limiter can simply be removed w/ a field vtec controller or Apexi. Don't bother getting a chip because you can have infinite (w/ some restrictions) tuning, far more than a plug and play chip.

 

Mine is, 8,000 rpm in 5th gear (V-AFC). Don't trust your speedo or tach they're way off. I have a JDM P-13 with Spoon program (8,500 limiter). JDM ECU's are limited to 180 km/hr or 112 mph stock but you're seen 120-125 mph because your speedo is way off at that speed. My speedo reads only 130 so it was buried. Also I was racing my friends WRX and S2000. All they could see was my taillights.

Make sure you check your tires before trying anything this stupid.

 

Id be scared i might bend a valve or something redlining 5th gear at 140+mph....most ive done on a stock sh was 120

 

scared? my car has 166,000 miles on it.. i'll let ya know when i blow the engine... then i'll be swapping a h22 in.

I got my 95 h22a1 doing about 140 + and I dont plan on goin any faster

 

i hit 150 for about 2 min on the 80 near the coloseum in oakland at about 5am after the street races....untill i passed a CHP getting on the freeway. Thing with the ecu is the fuel cutoff.....our cars dont actually do 150...its like 143 or something like that but the speedo reads 150

 

Prelude's don't have fuel cutoffs or speed limiters

phenix city alabama to virginia beach.... 12 hour drive. made it in 8 1/2 hours. avg speed with stops was 95 mph. fastest speed racing my friends vette was 130.
not a cop for all of south carolina, most of north carolina and maybe 3 in georgia.

Ok, I have to speak up for the Gen2's, I have had mine as far as 138, although I wouldn't recomend that without some suspension mods and larger wheels. That is where 5th gear runs out...It got there pretty quick though, I was really impressed.

a little over 150 down krome racing one of the new spec v's (he wouldnt stop purging on me) back in july of 02....and then the madness began...busted ringlands i won by like 3 trains though!!
