Hi, I have 1997 h22a4 crank and rods with 50mm journals. Would it work in a 1995 f22b2 block and if so do you know of any modifications needed.
Thankyou another G22 fan!!!

It'll work but F22 pistons will have lower compression as they are .5mm shorter compression height and the stroke is much shorter. You could run the worst gas ever and not detonate. lol
Only potential problem might be that the H22A4 rods are floating pin and the F22 pistons are press fit and slightly longer than H22A4 pins. A competent automotive shop can fit the pistons to the rods though.

Thankyou PirateMcFred for the info. Do you no if the h22a4 crank is forged? and how about the f22b2, is it cast?, and if so how much horse power is good for before it breaks or bearings get torn up?

As long as you have the proper bearing clearances and it's balanced/straight about any modern Honda crank is good for whatever kind of power you can throw at it.

Ok, I'M GOING TO USE THE F22B2 BLOCK AND CRANK AND AFTER MARKET F22 RODS. MY QUESTION IS THIS, IF I BORE THE BLOCK SO K20 PISTONS WILL FIT, WHAT COMPRESSION PISTON WOULD I HAVE TO USE TO REACH 11:1 GIVEN THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER SIZE DIFFERENCE? 12:1 12.5:1 13:1 ??????

Re: F22b2 block+H22a1 head, F22 VTEC, F22B/VTEC
Hey I new to Honda engines and forums and need some help. I recently came across a H22a4 head, I plan to do the "G22" thing and then turbo it. Any ideas what an n/a G22 would put down at the wheels? My F22b2 has i/h/e already if it helps. Thanks for the help.

I just finished up the G22 swap it was pretty simple the hardest part was the pos water pump lol. going to be boosting on 20lbs on a GT35R i put aftermarket H22 rods and Evo Stroker pistons in the bottom end it runs pretty well feels like a stock H22 down low it makes mad torque thanks for all the useful information it was well worth reading every little bit. Also for the Head plugs i used pipe plugs and threaded the holes in the head so that i didnt have to ruin the head by pounding plugs in it or welding them in just a thought if u were to ever reuse the head on a H22 again it would be good!

Re: F22b2 block+H22a1 head, F22 VTEC, F22B/VTEC
Okay I have one simple question. I am working off my phone here and to go through 80 something pages would take a dick year lol. I have a f22a1 block, I want to stay non-VTECH so I know I'm going to have to go with h23 head but as to which one is my concern. If someone could help me out on this a pm would be greatly appreciated since it takes forever to load forum pages on my phone
Thanks
Thanks

Re: F22b2 block+H22a1 head, F22 VTEC, F22B/VTEC
I too am also considering the swap. Only I will be putting an H22A head on an F23A block. Keep us posted on how this comes out. My dad is a 25+ year Honda technician and we've decided to build the engine over this coming winter. He has numerous F23A engines just laying around the shop so I only have to pay for the H22A cylinder head. Also considering having the block bored oversize and lengthening the stroke.

hey i have a odb2 f22b2 in a 97 accord ... would i be able to use a h22a4 head instead of a h22a1? and for the dizzy the plugs, are they supposed to plug into the f22b2 harness or do i change wire harnesses to the h22 one??
