f22b ecu question

i'm getting ready to buy a jdm f22b DOHC to replace my usdm f22a1 motor and i was wondering if i could use the usdm f22a1 ecu for the f22b or do i need to get a h23 ecu to run it. any help would be great

most likely if needed, basically it's similar..but not the right ecu so it makes sense to get a fuel adjustment tool

i have a feeling that using a h23 ecu on a f22b is going to yeild less power than it would make w/ its standard ecu.

japan has higher octane gas than here in the states... therefore it is possible that the f22b's ecu has a more aggressive ignition/fuel map program. which in turn, might explains why a 2.2L engine w/ 9.2:1 comp. makes 160 hp. keep in mind that f22b is basically a h23 w/ a 85 mm bore.

afaik the f22b also doesnt have a knock sensor stock, while the p14 will wnat one.

Japanese gas is not that much higher 100 ROM (Reasearch Octane) is a higher rating than US (R+M)/2 method, which is the average of research (high) and mechanical octane rating (lower). I can't remember but 100 is more like 94, which I agree is not necessarily available everywhere. Just some info...
