Exhaust question
I currently, have a stock cat..... and no resonator with 2.5 inch custom exhaust and it sounds tooo raspy at high rpms especially when vtec kicks in. i was wondering if i just buy a 22" magna-flow resonator, and not a magna-flow cat... will the exhaust give off a nasty smell, and will it spit out black smoke when shifting at high rpms, none of this happens now, but will it??

Re: Exhaust question (LukieLuc)
i dont know why no one answered this question...
but adding a resonator will not do anything u listed up there. it will quiet down the exhaust quite a bit though. go for it if u want to get rid of that raspyness u were talking about.

Re: Exhaust question (idrivealude)
In my experience, the black blast of smoke(dubbed the vtec cloud) is carbon build up from the stock cat.
Anytime you install new exhaust parts its possible to get a smell from the material inside the muffler burning a bit. It should go away.
Also possible that too much fuel will cause the smell.

A resonator will help with the raspy sound though.
