Default Engine swap...

Right now I have an H23 non-VTEC and am gonna drop in a new engine. It's either gonna be an H22 or an H22A4. Is the extra 2 G's worth the 30hp gain?

i wouldnt use a h22a4 i would use a h22a1 because the h22a4 from the 5th gen lude has and ODBII which means you dont get as much output from your upgrades like you would the h22a1 with the ODBI the 93-95 vtec motor is the best one to use..

It's worth it for sure if you have an S model, but I'm not sure if it would be worth it for the si H23... I would probably do an h23 turbo build up.

Depending on the condition of the h22a1 or a4 engine, i would consider rebuilding what you have and go turbo..Again, it depends on how much your engine swap is costing...Rebuild and turbo could easily break $8,000.00...But then again, an h22a4 with low miles plus labor could come to that figure also
