i was testing my stock h22 lude on the highway today. suddenly the rpm stop at 6500 on 4th gear. i pulled to neutral, then my battery lights came on (my engine stalled?). i pulled over on the shoulder and tried to restart it but it wouldn't start anymore. sounds like a starter problem because it won't crank. does this mean my engine locked up? there was smoke coming from my starter. can this possibly be an electrical problem?

 

do your gas/temp gauges light up when you try to start. if not its battery, but with ur starter smoking then thats more then likely it. does it make a clicking noise when you try to start it?

my temp was cool when i tried to restart. i don' think it's my battery because the lights and everything still works, except when you try to start it (it goes out, then comes back on after you let go of ignition). when you try to start it, the engine just go grr, like it won't crank or something. any other suggestions? thanks

 

not sure if it could be starter too, because it stalled when i was still driving.

 

i was saying if when you try to start it the lights dont work then its battery. my car did this b4. i would go and try to start it up but all the lights would shut off it would try cranking but never start.

 

but my engine would never crank. it's like it's locked up or something. the smoke could be from the tranny. my alternator is good and the battery is only three week old. what could be the problem?

nope. the engine/crank just goes grr.. grr... like something is stopping it from cranking. i tried banging on the starter but it wouldn't start.
