There is no JDM H23. In Japan the 4th gen Si used a variant of the F22.

Sorry man but there is no way in hell you can slap a Type S head on a H23 block and get 240 hp or 192 ft-lbs of torque without some other work. Check atomic's site and see if they still have dyno of the H23 with the VTEC head and the Type S pistons (I'll save you a trip it was 181hp and 151 lb-ft). It really didn't make impressive power for the amount of work that had to be done to get it to work. Sorry but there is no way a mild port job and some slightly more agressive cams will make that much power. Plus the atomic motor had a compression bump from the Type S pistons. I'd take at least 10 more hp off of those dyno numbers if you used the stock H23 pistons.

Plus for all that money they spent on getting that block to mate up with the head you could have done some other work to the H22 to get it up in hp. Not to mention that the r/s ratio is worse so you'll never be able to rev as high, no oil squirters, etc.

"You are right. It doesn't have to. I comes that way from the factory. A Type S Prelude is 2.2 with 2.3. That's how it comes out of the factory. No money, no pistons. It is just built that way!!!!!!"

That's how that translates out to me, but I'm sorry, I don't think it was much help. I didn't know the Type S was 2.3L. Is that true?

No, it's not true. In fact no JDM prelude ever used the H23. I tried every language on the alta Vista's babel fish translation page and still came up with an unintelligible answer.

I would love to take that bet. Here are all the specs on the Type S (you'll have to run it through a translator): http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData...de_data/s.html

Here's the data for the SiR S-spec if you want it: http://www.honda.co.jp/HOT/ModelData..._data/sir.html

Go tell the guy who supposedly "knows everything" that I say he's full of $hit.

BTW there is a H23A (dohc) VTEC motor but it's used in the Accord Wagon and only makes 200ps (around 196 hp) and that's in the SiR version. There is also an F23A (sohc) VTEC version for the other Accord wagons that makes 160ps. I've looked up every spec on every JDM honda and that the highest output I've found for a 2.3L motor.

Screw the arguments...just boost the block for REAL power. Maybe we'll run into each other here in the L-town "Gabe". I go to school at UNL...you probably know my boy Javin. See ya'll on the street...big ball it and boost!!

What's up man, I though I recognized your car. I've seen it in the parking lot at UNL a few times. I do know a kid named Javin but I haven't talked to him since I was a freshman (95-96). If you see me on the street I sure as hell won't be revving on you, but I'll say hi.
