Engine operating temp
This questiong may have been asked in the past, but I couldn't find it in the forums. What is a good operating temp for a built H22, turbocharged. I am looking for actual numbers. I have tried looking all over the internet for the answer, and I can find what temp the thermostat opens, and what temp the cooling fans come on, but not what a good operating temp is, and what is getting too hot. I think somewhere between 180-190degress with 210degrees getting towards the hotter side, and 220-230 in the "shut it down" range. Thanks for any info.

220-230 is hot but its not overbearing. I was hitting 217 degrees on the dyno a couple times
driving around i'm at mid to low 190's, idle is 205 (Programmed neptune to automatically turn the fans on at this temp)
I'd be more worried about EGT's than ECT with a built turbo motor.
btw, im stock internals.

thanks, I am well within all of the temps you guys have listed, and egt's are around 900-1000 when I'm driving around normal, but that temp is slightly false due to the fact that my downpipe is thermal wrapped, and if I take the wrap off my egts drop to 700-800. I just wanted to make sure things were normal. When I do a full run I'll see 205 to 210 ECT, then shortly after a few degress higher as the hot coolant is making it's way past the temp sensor, then cools right back down to 190-200 while driving around. I know most vehicles run in the 210-220 range, but I have gotten in trouble using the "most vehicles" method of diagnostics in the past. I know the 3rd bar on the OEM temp guage doesn't come on until around 230degress, and then the "shut it down" light comes on around 240 (I think). So I should be alright. Thanks again.
