yea, so after reading it about 8 times.. i think i found out that he wants to know:
1) How to more consistently use the vtec function of his motor
2) How to lower the point at which vtec engages (via a vafc, obviously)

flaming is warranted but..damn.. yall are really cuttin deep..

Just reset your ECU and see what happens. If the lights comes back on, then you have a problem...

Had a similar problem after cam gears were installed. The VTEC solenoid wire was loose. Check your connections first. Worst case is that your solenoid is bad.

i have to agree, i mean sometimes its ok, but not everyone on here is american, and they cant type very well, but ******* them all the time isnt always nessecary..basically he said he dowshifted, on the highway his cel came on, and that basically his car wont hit vtec...then he also asked how to lower his x-over point...i think your problem is oil..or oil pressure, and the vafc or feilds vtec controller is your options for conmtrolling vtec engagement..

People defended you and then you had to drop down to the level of ape and post something juvenial like that. That is no way to garner respect.

not to jack the thread or anything, but i too am curious. every now and then. when i'm driving my car, around 50mph, floored or not, it'll throw a cel. and sometimes when i race it and slam it into 2nd, and hit vtec the cel lights up. vtec works, car runs fine. i've been told it could be a problem with me running open header. also another question. where is the service port connector to read my cel?

your oil might be low causing you vtec not to engage and you need a V-AFC to change the crossover point. (if thats what you asked)
