Default Engine Fault Codes
Guys,

Im getting an engine warning light on , fault code is one long dash followed by two short dashes - does anyone know what this code means and how to solve the problem??

DTC 12 is an EGR valve malfunction. Check the wiring and vacuum lines to the EGR valve and make sure everything is good. Next step is to clean the EGR valve followed by the EGR ports on the intake manifold.

Spot on - cleaned the EGR valve (second time this year) and all is well again. It seemed a bit notchy in its action this time, so possibly time for a new one.
