Egr value engine light question?
I have this problem for over a year now. The CEL code show that
80 Exhaust Gas Recirculation
* Insifficient flow detected
* EGR Valve
* EGR Line
I bought it in to autozone and they told me I need a NEW egr value.
I bought a brand new egr value, and within a day the CEL light came back on. My car drive fine with the light on or off. So I don't really know what the problem is?

The EGR is pointless unless you have emissions - which i'm pretty sure CA does........
But take the EGR valve off and check that port in the intake manifold - there might be a buildup of gunk in there. Clean it out.
Also - autozone screwed you - most likely you could have just cleaned the EGR valve.
Tip: NEVER listen to autozone - they're parts specialist - not technicians.

Keep in mind you also have the 2 EGR control valves and assorted vacuum lines to check out in addition to the valve.

Well, I don't have a good pic since mine are hidden away, but if you have a 4th gen they are just to the right of the engine if you are looking from the front of the car. I'm not sure about a 5th gen.....
I've had my CEL come on before for EGR just because a vacuum line was crimped and wasn't flowing.
