Default ecu problems??

just got a h22 hatch and the rev limiter kicks in very low like maybe 7-75 and the vtec wont crack. the idle is also pretty high but the car has an s2000 ecu in it now. are these problems due to this s2000 ecu and should i just get it tuned or buy a whole new one. thanks

why in the world are you running an ecu for a 2.0L?

common sense should tell you that you will likely run into problems running an ecu (the brain) that is not suited for the engine.

WHAAAAT?? what are you doing????

What gave you the impression you could run an s2000 ecu in a completely different car?

Get an h22 compatible p13 ecu, or get a p28 or p72 and get that thing tunned properly on either chrome or neptune rtp, or hondata.

You've made it that far so don't cheap out on the most important thing. (even though you do have a wicked ecu, but just in the wrong car)

I would first see what local tuning is available in your case. Call around and see if anybody tunes honda and with what system they use (hondata, chrome, neptune). Than buy a new ecu that matches your h22, either p13, p28, or p72, and many more others you just have to search, and than yes!, have it tuned.

And don't be like the kid who owned that car before you. Your car can be badass if you tune it properly.

If you want it cheap you could probably use a stock h22 ecu for maybe 50-150 dollers depending on its state and where you get it, though its performance won't be as good as it could be if you got a tunable ecu.

If you spent 600 or so you could get neptune rtp with a compatible ecu for your system including a basemap that would last you untill you could find a tuner.

if you got a stock h22 ecu, everything might work properly. But getting the correct ecu is a good start to fixing your problem.
